I recently had some training with VZW better known as Verizon Wireless. The training incorporated so many aspects of this class from beginning to end. The facilitators worked with us in a group setting as well as one on one. They also incorporated so many learning patterns due the class being a mixture of younger and older generation’s students. The visual and hand on examples helped us grasp the system and material better in that process it covered different learning styles. Weather and individual learned better by hands on, visual or one on one.

The training over all taught me a lot and gave me examples that I would be able to incorporate if I were to train a group that was well diversed when I comes to learning.

I was thinking about the learning process and about taking this class online and the interaction of the peers once placed in the group setting. How each individual person would react once group projects come about. Each individual has a different learning style and view taking class on line differently. Some are more serious and other may not put as much effort into it due to the fact that it is on line. Its really going to be interesting once all of this starts to take place. The reaction and interaction of the group is going to be a challenge.

I was not aware that there were so may was to learn. Every style and example opens your mind up to really allow you to think out side the box, which helps you to realize everyone learning style and method is different. From teaching in the class room, to training at work or just helping the elderly realize the power of the internet.

Chapter 7 is a great example of showing how we learn and classroom styles. From the small group method, distance learning, whole group methods and instructional aids. Every aspect of this chapter has covered so many ways that I have been taught over the year and didn’t realize how effortless it’s been by rediscovering this has been in my process of helping others learn

Thus far this course over all has proven to be very beneficial in so many aspects of my life, dealing with work training and documenting procedures, church and helping others learn. Mainly working in a team environment has proven to be the best practice.

Seeking a job in technology training or management I found my self thinking out of the box more often. Thinking of so many ways to help others understand and grasp the concept I am trying to get across to them. I have put to many of my practices I have learned and read to help my adult education class at church. From starting a computer to learning how to surf the net. It gives great pleasure to pass on my knowledge and the smile in is enough.

I have noticed around my department that training has become one of the main focuses. My company has only been open for approximately three years and people have moved from this department to the next with out leaving behind or developing any type of system or training matrix for the next person coming in to learn from . So we are forced to learn as we go an use each other. This has proven to be difficult at times due to the face that each indivual does things differently and develope their own way of doing thing.

Our goal know is to develop a step by step training module as we go. Something that based on a step by step process and easy to understand and follow so anyone would be able to do a specific task. Its showing to be a lot of work but is also proving to be very beneficial in all aspects. By doing this we have devloped some formal process that needes to by followed in order to the the job correctly.

I found it very interesting and a challenge when it comes to training and our seniors.

I do some what of a beginner’s computer course at my church and also assist in help anyone who needs set of their home computers. The task comes in when it comes to seniors, a lot of them I found to be intimidated or more hesisinent by the computer and what it can actually do. The major objective that I noticed and found through out the class thus far is how differently people learn and different techniques used to train them.

The younger generation seem to a more ambitious and their willingness to absorbed and any everything when it comes to connecting the computer up, printing pictures, programming languages and mainly games and sites where they can communicate with other teenagers and kids their own age. Group sessions, I found work really well with this generation. When it comes to seniors and getting them more accustom to the computer, that one on one session works best. Starting from the basic start up and pulling up applications and games. I found it a little difficult for some of them to understand the amount of information that was available and how to look it up. Most were under the impression that someone would so easily obtain their identity and do what every. I found that the saying teaching an old dog new trick to be very true – it can prove to be a very challanging task.

Wrokplace Learning

Training is the most important key in the workplace, for any organization to stay competitive in today's market - no mater what industry your in. I found that work place literacy is based on three R's which are reading, writing and arithmetic.

Training is based on communication, you must be able to be able to effectively get your point across in a way that is manageable to everyone to grasp the concept of what you are expressing. Due to the fact that everyone learn in so many different ways and manners it can be very difficult to but very important for a trainer to make sure their point is understood by everyone. Its said that through good communication and team work employees are able to think critically and logically which will prove to be beneficial in helping your workforce adapt to change in today's economy.
